TERM 1

introduction :
My name is Alissa Shah and i am from India. I have been Going to Eis meadows for around 8 years. I am 12 years old and i just moved to year 8. My hobbies include netball and badmiton. my favorite subject currently is English . My favorite colour has always been Black. I have two siblings and a dog which is in India. We created this blog as part of MYP design for this year. Our teacher has shown us how to be a good designer. In the previous year i have learned about very effective and powerful advertisements. In grade 7 , term 2 we created a product for the tech fair. I am still waiting to learn more about designing.
The subject MYP Design makes us understand the problems and analyse the work in a product which is already created. To be a good designer you have to be very observant and need to know how to note the flaws and need  a solution for the flaw while re- designing the product.

KEY CONCEPT : Devolempment
RELATED CONCEPT : Ergonomics
GLOBAL CONTEXT : Personal and cultural expression
STATEMENT OF INQUIRY : products devolopment creatively using the technique of 3D modelling to meet an individuals needs can increase their ability to function within the real world

ATL SKILLS
Thinking - creative thinking and transfer
Research - information litracy

The MYP design cycle consists of four stages :

criteria A:inquiry and analysing
criteria B : developing ideas
criteria C: creating the solution
criteria D : evaluating the solution

WHAT KIND OF LEARNER AM I ?

LAUNCH

REFLECTION

In class we reflected on 3 D printing . 3 D printing is also known as additive manufacturing .  Materials they use  : nylon, rubber, metal , silver and steel there are also more. 3 D printing is usually used by designers , engineer and more. The object which is being made is done in layers. 3 D printing is successful because the process is done really quickly [ 24 hours] and has been made in very big projects like the worlds first 3 D printed bridge was made in Amsterdam and Adidas and Parley for the Oceans collaborate to make a 3D printed shoe made from ocean plastic waste.

tinker cad

This lesson on tinker cad was learning about the moves results.
The instructions below helped alot .
I learned the moves result by using the panels on the top right corner and by using the shapelist

This tutorial of camera controls understood how to navigate around the object using View Cube.
The view cube is used to view the object from different angles. It is called a cube because it has sides labelled :-
Left, Right,Top, Bottom, Front and Back.
Using the ViewCube I was able to navigate around the stage and thus see the man behind the stage.

In this tutorial on tinkercad, I learnt how to create a holes and move a shape. I learnt that you can drag a shape from the right panel and I also figured out how to create a hole, using the lesson on tinkercad.

design situation 1

The UAE Nurses Association claims that one of the most difficult parts of their job is
dealing with small children who have a fear of needles.Although the association has some
tips and tricks like putting numbing cream to partially freeze the surface of the skin
before injecting medicine, sometimes the anxiety levels of small children are so high that
it is difficult to get them to hold still. If only there was an easier way to administer
medicine within the syringe.

design situation 2
eye wear frames  these day are breaking often and quickly due to the quality of the frame and the materials . By eye wear breaking often a lot of money has been spent and its hard to find good quality of eye wear. If only there was a strong and good quality of frames produced. Although people can find a really good quality of frame it could not last long , due to the frame being really fragile and thin ;even if thick its not made out of the right materials.

Design situation 3
Kids , adults and teens these days have devices which they use every day. The problem is that if they want to read or watch something its usually flat on the table or needs something to hold on to be stable and by that happening , it ruins your neck posture.  If only there was something which could prevent this problem
