3. ACCURATE DRAWINGS

Design solutions

solution 1 - syringe

Reflection
I already knew what i was doing but to improve my idea i thought about what kids these days liked and drew many sketches to find the best sketch and improve it further  .The sketch was not very hard to draw but it took a little time. The highlight of product is the toy which attracts the children and gets distracted when they are getting their vaccination. I think i annotated very well since its detailed and specific. I also used related terminology.  I used a  pencil ,color pencils and an A4 paper.

solution -2

Reflection
I came up with the sketch by looking at ideas on the internet and i incorporated some of my own ideas . The sketch was a little complicated to draw and was time consuming . The highlight of the product is the whole product itself since itself since its one whole product , its not in pieces. I annotated it well because its very detailed and i have covered most of the important things. I used a pencil , a marker and used an A4 paper to sketch portrait.

justification - frame 1

Reflection
I came up with the sketch by looking at frame designs online and what can someone wear for their everyday life. I used a pencil , colors and A4 paper to sketch the solution. The sketch was not complicated at all , it was very easy to sketch since i had a very simple idea . I think my annotations are very clear and detailed.  The highlight of the frame is the material since that is what is making the frame strong and flexible.

Justification - frame 2
I came up with the design by looking at my first frame and trying to see the difference , like this frame is for adults unlike the other one which is made for kids. I used  a pencil , shading technique and A4 paper. I think the highlight of the frame is the material becasue frames break daily and this is made for everyday life (the material is very strong) . It was not hard to draw and took aroung 5 -10 minutes. I think i did well on annotating but i could add more to it and make it more clean.

 Justification - syringe 1
I came up with the butterfly syrine by thinking what girls liked and then i decided to make it in the shape of a butterfly , since that is what girls like. The highlight of the syringe is the shape since that is what distracts the children while they are getting their vaccination. The sketch was a little difficult to draw and took 10-15 minutes. I think i annotated pretty well but i could make it a bit clear. I used color pencils , girly colors and A4 paper.

Justification - phone holder 2
I came up with the idea by searching a phone holder online and adding my own twist to it . The highlight of the phone holder is the whole product itself, since its one whole product and it does not come in peices or has something very special. I think i annotated the sketch very well and used the correct terms. The sketch was a challenging and took around 10 -15 mins. I used markers , color pencils and A4 paper

criteria A

Criteria A
At the end of year 2, students should be able to:
i.         explain and justify the need for a solution to a problem (Design Situation)

ii.        state and prioritize the main points of research needed to develop a solution to   the problem

iii.       describe the main features of one existing product that inspires a solution to the  problem

iv.       present the main findings of relevant research.

Design brief : syringe
The UAE Nurses Association claims that one of the most difficult parts of their job is
dealing with small children who have a fear of needles.Although the association has some
tips and tricks like putting numbing cream to partially freeze the surface of the skin
before injecting medicine, sometimes the anxiety levels of small children are so high that
it is difficult to get them to hold still. If only there was an easier way to administer
medicine within the syringe.

I am going to create a syringe by which the small children will take the vaccination without any hesitation.  The main features of the product includes : the plastic syringe , toy attached to  syringe  and liquid / water.  Doctors like pediatricians will use the syringes and nurses as well . The syringe can be used in clinics , hospitals and school clinic. The syringe will be a very eye catching color . The texture of the syringe is going to be smooth and the toy will distract the child . The toy will reduce the anxiety in  children; since the syringe has a toy, the eyes of the child will only be on the toy so for the child it looks like the toy is coming to it  while its actually injecting the child.  I am targeting mostly toddlers or small children. for girls there should be a specific color with a fantasy toy attached and for boys there should be a specific color  along with a car . The material used is plastic

Design brief 2 : frames of eye wear

eye wear frames  these day are breaking often and quickly due to the quality of the frame and the materials . By eye wear breaking often a lot of money has been spent and its hard to find good quality of eye wear. If only there was a strong and good quality of frames produced. Although people can find a really good quality of frame it could not last long , due to the frame being really fragile and thin ;even if thick its not made out of the right materials.

I am going to create a frame which will not break easily and will last very long. The main features of the frame : temples , front frames, hinges and nose pad .The material used will be titanium. Opticians / eye specialists can recommend  the frames. The frames could be used in clinics and hospitals and sold by opticians . The frame will be very smooth and thick so it will not break easily and it will be comfortable. The shape of the frame is like a typical frame except that there will be a padded support near the nose, since a lot of people find that area uncomfortable. The color will be very basic and the target audience is teens and adults, the frame can be for any gender. The frame will weigh like how other thick glasses weigh. The frame will be flexible and any pressure will not break it. Therefore your frame will not break and people would not have to waste time buying new frames.

Design brief 3 : Phone holder
Kids , adults and teens these days have devices which they use every day. The problem is that if they want to read or watch something its usually flat on the table or needs something to hold on to be stable and by that happening , it ruins your neck posture or hurts your wrists.  If only there was something which could prevent this problem.

I am going to create a phone holder which will be made from nylon and can extend so people do not have to have their phone flat  . The main features of the device holder is the base and on top of the base will be a rectangular hollow box  where the device can be placed. To extend you just have to pull the sides and it can extend further.  This product is perfect for any gender and any age , it will not affect your posture and it will not make your wrists he. The texture will be smooth as well as it will come in many basic and colorful colors. This can be sold/ recommended in electronics stores and maybe online. Therefore this product  will solve the problem of having your phone flat on the table and will prevent any health issues as well as its portable and convenient
